Top 3 health tips: Healthy cold weather snacks

When it's freezing outside, it's like your very soul needs something warm. And while we could down packaged mini-marshmallow hot chocolate all day, we don't want to abandon our quest for healthy food simply because we need a warm cup or bowl of something in our hands.
So, Women's Health magazine, published by Rodale Inc. of Emmaus, asked a few top nutritionists to share their go-tos when they need a steamy snack.
CHILI
1 Chunky, spicy chili is heaven when you're curled-up-in-a-ball-level cold. "Chili is a dynamite snack for staying warm and shedding pounds," says Tanya Zuckerbrot, a registered dietitian. "Fiber-rich beans help stabilize blood sugar and keep you feeling full." Make your chili with lean turkey or chicken, both of which contribute muscle-building protein while being low in saturated fat.
MATCHA TEA
2 Ready to take your tea game to the next level? "I love warming up with matcha in the cold," says Brooke Alpert, a registered dietitian. "This super-powerful green tea gives me a nice energy boost, provides tons of antioxidants, and boosts my metabolism. I sometimes add some almond milk to make it more of a light snack."
BONE BROTH
3 Broth has been getting some serious love from the health world lately, and for good reason. "It's such a simple concept, but broth is loaded with health benefits," says Alpert. "It's rich in magnesium, which benefits your muscles, helps you sleep, and soothes stomach issues. It's also loaded with collagen, which boosts the appearance of your skin and promotes healthy muscles and joints."
